요즈음 노래방을 가도 부를 노래가 없다. 왜냐면 아는 최신곡이 없어서다. 물론 지금까지 노래방을 다니면서 내가 즐겨불렀던 노래가 없었던 것은 아니지만 많이 불렀으니 내게는 식상할 뿐. 예전에는 노래방을 가도 계속 노래를 부르고 싶었는데 요즈음은 남의 노래를 듣고 앉아 있다. 그러다 보니 오랜만에 노래를 불렀는데도 고음 처리가 안 된다.
원래 다른 이들에 비해서 고음이 안 되기도 하고 목소리 또한 다른 남자들에 비해서는 음정이 낮기는 하지만 충분히 올라가던 노래도 안 올라가니 기가 막힐 수밖에. 그래서 최근에 4시간 동안 내리 노래만 불렀던 적도 있다. 악을 쓰는 게 아니라 고음 처리를 위한 연습 때문에. 그렇게 다시 어느 정도 옛날 수준으로 만들긴 했는데 이것도 그 날의 컨디션에 많이 좌우한다는...
어쨌든 요즈음은 어쩌다가 어울려서 노래방을 가는 경우도 종종 생기고 해서 부를 노래를 찾곤 하는데 사실 가요는 별 관심이 없다. 어쩌다가 좋다는 생각이 들면 그 때서 주변에 물어 보기 때문에 최신 가요에 민감한 세대들에게는 이미 한물 간 노래인 경우가 꽤 된다. 그러다 보니 팝송만 찾게 되는...
어쨌든 이 곡은 원래 Billy Joel이 불렀던 Uptown Girl을 Westlife가 리메이크한 곡인데 부르기도 쉽고 듣기도 좋아서 외우려고 포스팅한다. 가사 내용도 그러하지만 곡 분위기도 발랄하다. 또한 누구나 한 번 들어봄직한 곡이기 때문에 부르면 흥이 나는 곡. 부르기도 그리 어렵지 않다. 몇 번 연습만 하면 될 듯.
